Exactly what did Representative McKinney apologize for?

Meaningless pose

What wasn't said was much more interesting than what was said.

"I am sorry that this misunderstanding happened at all and I regret its escalation, and I apologize," McKinney, D-Ga., said during a brief appearance on the House floor. "There should not have been any physical contact in this incident."

She is sorry it happened and she regrets the escalation.

But...

She's not sorry she did it.

Under the circumstances, it's probably wise to go to a grand jury. That should defuse most of the claims of racism.
