Impeach Cheney?

Playing politics for the pole position

I'd have a lot easier time taking this seriously if Representative Kucinich wasn't running for President and needed to attract attention.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a vocal critic of the Bush administration's war in Iraq, plans to introduce articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday.

Kucinich, a Democrat who is again running for president, said Monday that he will hold a news conference in Washington to discuss his bid to oust Cheney. Kucinich spokeswoman Natalie Laber declined further comment.

Let's ask the sensible question here. If the Congressman's problem is with the Bush administration and it's policies, why impeach the Vice-President? Why not go straight to the top?

The answer has more to do with politics than any right or wrong. If Cheney were impeached, the President would lose the strongest advocate he has on Capital Hill.
