I would love to see both major parties fail

"Immigration reform" may be the wedge issue

I'm actually encouraged by one thing I am seeing in American politics right now. The immigration "deal" is showing just how disconnected the leadership of both major parties is from the rank and file.

The Democrat side is getting less press, but actually seems to be a wider disconnect. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot on the web I can quote, other than the anger of the far Left which frankly I think is going to self-destruct.

Meanwhile, the Republicans are actually insulting their donors.

Here's what I would love to see.

Both parties fail.

It's already in the works. Hillary Clinton helped set up a "shadow party" to evade the controls of the national leadership. At least one major Republican is taking his campaign "to the people," even if he hasn't announced yet.

Why should political parties have control over the nomination of candidates?
