Is it real, or is it politics?


MoveOn.org is cashing in on Cindy Sheenan

I haven't mentioned much about Cindy Sheehan because it plays like a silly season story.

But Dana Milbank column in the Washington Post has a very interesting quote.

"We're also asking that you bring pictures of children," MoveOn.org requested, and it didn't matter "whether or not you have a child serving in the military."

So the appearance is more important than the reality.

I do think that there are important questions that need to be asked about the war. But encouraging people to fake military service for their children, well, that crosses a line.

No matter how good your cause is, stretching the truth is not going to do anything except give your critics more ammunition.
