Air America Investigation

Did a New York City charity give improper loans to Air America?

I've been holding off mentioning this one until it looked like someone was going to take official notice.

Long story short, the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx gave a rather sizable loan to Air America. Evan Cohen, Air America's founder, was working at Gloria Wise at the time.

All of Gloria Wise city contracts have been pulled, and now NY Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is investigating.

One of the questions that has been going through the right side of the blogosphere has been why did a charitable group funded by government agencies underwrite a for profit enterprise when there was an obvious conflict of interest?

I think it is a good question.
