Christian uproar over atheist documentary on PBS

Pot calling the kettle black

Okay, I am a polytheist and not an atheist. But there are times I sympathize.

This is probably the best quote.

Noting that PBS recently refused to air a documentary on moderate Muslims under fire from radicals of their own faith, Sprigg said the public broadcaster "really seems to be taking sides these days - as long as it's opposed to Christianity and doesn't offend non-Christians."

"If they really want to be objective, they need to have a three-part series documenting the evidence in favor of Christianity," he added. "If they present propaganda for Islam, if they present propaganda for atheism, I think it's only fair they present propaganda for Christianity, too."

You know, this whole notion of "fairness" really bugs me. I can't tell you how many Christian programs that PBS has carried over the years. That's probably an argument against public broadcasting too, but I am not going to get into that now.

On the commercial side, we have all of that speculative fiction that the History Channel keeps passing off as history. Just the other day there was something that was tracking the Ark of the Covenant.

But that isn't slanted, nosireebob. Not "demagogic and propogandistic."

Odd how the rules are only supposed to apply to one group, isn't it?

Oh, and there is one thing that both the documentary and the Christians opposing it share.

They don't trust you to make up your own mind.
