About the South Carolina church shooting. We know enough now.

We know that the shooter was a racist nutcase.

Gods, I really hate classifying people by “race”. There’s one race and it’s human.

We also know that just because the shooter was a racist nutcase, that doesn’t mean that every 21 year old “white” man is a racist nutcase. It doesn’t mean that every 21 year old is. It doesn’t mean that every man is. And it doesn’t mean that every “white” is.

We also know that the Confederate flag wasn’t responsible for the shootings. Nor were Budweiser or Seagram’s VO. These things were not guilty last week, the week before that, and they certainly aren’t guilty this week.

What I find amazing is that a “white” person shooting “black” people is “racist” while a “black” person shooting “white” people is not “racist.”

Doesn’t any one else find that distinction “racist?”

Yes, the SC shooter was a “racist.” He was also a deeply disturbed individual. That’s why he shot people.

That’s not the narrative that’s being sold.

Thankfully Charleston isn’t buying into it.

There’s hope left in the world. And some people do the right thing.
