I hadn’t planned to relaunch just yet, but my FTP issues were more than I thought.

So welcome to the second version of Pagan Vigil, my political blog.

I’m a small “L” libertarian, so it’s not so much about politics and more about liberty. In the words of Penn Jillette, "…if you want to find utopia, take a sharp right on money and a sharp left on sex and it’s straight ahead."

I call myself libertarian with a small “L” because when I say "classic liberal" most folks in the U.S. don't know what I am talking about. It has nothing to do with a political party and everything to do with liberty.

Classic liberalism predates the founding of the American republic. That is why I distinguish between "Libertarianism" and "libertarianism." Big "L" versus small "l." Party platform versus individual responsibility.

I believe that the freedom to choose is the mark of an adult human. Make of that what you will.

This time around I’m not going to react to news stories. We’ll be focusing on the liberty principles.

I’m going to start with my crux files. Drawn from the debates I have on other websites, these are the key ideas I think get overlooked these days.

So what happened to stop my blogs? Well, there were a couple of things. Mainly I got too busy to do the blogs the way I was doing them. I can’t keep chasing down news items and reacting. It’s not good reasoning, and it’s really not good for my health. About four months ago, stuff came to a head. So I’m taking the time to resurrect my blogs in a way that won’t drive me nuts. This is me focusing on the important things.

Politics is about power over people. Once you understand that government is not your friend and the politico only wants to get re-elected, you’re on the path to freedom. I’d like to help you get there.
