Alabama church fires

Looking for answers, but not finding any yet

I've been asked why I haven't commented on the church fires yet.

Anything I do say at this point is pure speculation. I don't know the people involved, I don't know the motives. I'm not an expert in psychology or profiling.

First, let me say I don't like the phrase "hate crime." A crime is a crime, it is not made worse by calling it hate. Introducing the idea of "hate crimes" gave two tiers for crimes, the "normal" kind and the "hate" kind. I make no such distinction. A murder is murder. An attack is an attack. These are unacceptable.

I also don't like the concept of different races of humans, but that is another, longer rant.

Now, with that being said, I see two strong possibilities. Either this was a crime against "blacks," or it was intended to seem to be a crime against "blacks." Both are strong possibilities. I'm leaning towards the former though just because we haven't seen a high profile on any of the victims yet.

Most likely, the trigger was Coretta Scott King's death.

I'll leave the rest up to the professionals who have seen the evidence.
