Revealing hypocrisy - Updated

Two blowhards make noise

Honestly, I am not that interested in the Imus controversy. He's not someone I watch. And I guess now I won't.

But there are two things that leap out at me.

First, behavior like this doesn't just happen. The guy was racist a long time ago and he hasn't changed. CBS and MSNBC knew that AND STILL decided to carry him.

So by current standards, doesn't that make those two companies racist?

Second of all, Imus goes to apologize for racist comments on Al Sharpton's radio show? I mean, c'mon. This is Al Sharpton we are talking about. Yes, Al Sharpton. The man is racist.

Update - CBS fired Imus.

I don't like the man's politics. But NBC and CBS are STILL trying to have it both ways.

They knew who Imus was and what he stood for LONG BEFORE this particular incident. They sold advertising time for him besides. And bragged about his ratings.

And if this case isn't surreal enough, Rosie O'Donnell (of all people) defended Imus.
